Procedure to Fix GT I9003 SAMSUNG GALAXY SL Boot loop problem or Reseting Settings issue or E:/ Rfs dev block stl10 format error or Simply reverting to Stock from Custom.
I have searched every forum and blog for the above problem but to no joy. So here is my solution that i have found and has worked for all if you follow exactly.
1. Odin Flasher & Latona.pit file Must Download this Version ONLY.
2. XXKB3 Firmware 2.1 Download.
3. 2.3.6 Firmware for eg. XWLF2 ( europe, Best 4 all/any region) or DDMF1 (india) or anyother that is the most recent STOCK ROM for your Region ( Country/Carrier), ref="http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/">check on sammobile and download.
OR Download XWLF2 // Latest DDMF1
Prepare :
* If your phone can go to recovery (Volume up + Home + Power) then Wipe Dalvik cache and wipe cache, otherwise no problem.
* Extract all the downloaded files as mentioned in above requirements to your computer in a Folder and disable antivirus programs.
Procedure 1 : [Caution : Read Carefully]
1. Start Odin on Computer put the " latona.pit " file in PIT tab and " I9003XXKB3-REV08-PDA-low-CL925667.tar.md5 " in PDA tab of Odin and check Re-Partition, Auto Reboot and F.Reset . As mentioned in Image below
Put your phone in download mode (Volume down + Home + Power) and connect to your computer via usb cable then Press Start.
2. Odin will complete the process after it displays "Pass", let the phone boot, you will find the phone has automatically booted into recovery , there you need to select
3. Start Odin again, click on Reset now put the recent Stock firmware i.e DDMF1 ( for india ) or XWLF2 ( for Europe ) or other Firmware that is for your country in PDA tab of odin, then connect the phone into download mode, make sure only Auto Reboot and F.Reset are checked
Connect your phone to computer in download mode once again. Press start and Let the device boot .
ENJOY THE SUCCESSFUL BOOTING !!
Now, format the internal memory once again after boot.
DDMF1/XWLF2 ADVANTAGES
XWLF2 has an additional Aquarium live wallpaper while DDMF1 does not have this but both have an added security feature "Face unlock" and it's Media scanning is super fast as compared to DDLF2 with both being much stable than their predecessor.
This is Download mode
This is Recovery mode
If the above procedure doesn't work you can try the other procedure also.
The Files Required :
Procedure 2 : 1. Unzip all the downloaded files into a Folder. 2. Open Odin 1.85(Flash Program) and put all the files from "DDLF2-FW" into corresponding textboxes
Refer to the image to understand :
3. Now connect your Phone in Download mode to the computer(Please use a good quality usb cable) and Press Start when Odin Shows yellow com.

ReplyDeletei have a problem with this ROM from your link
ReplyDeletei'm force to set a PIN for unlocking my phone. company policy :)
but after i set the PIN, the phone doesn't recognize the PIN.
if i want to wipe data - delete all users data - i must confirm a password in here also.
i've flash this ROM twice :)
can u help me?
Which ROM have you flashed ?
DeleteDid you had pin lock earlier?
Did the phone asked for google sign in before asking to set pin lock?
If yes then try data wipe from recovery and do not sign in to google or sign in but uncheck 'keep my device backed up'
checkbox.
Every ROM is the official stock ROM from samsung.
or Just flash XWLF2 once again but before doing this you need to 'wipe data' from recovery.
Deleteand then after flashing XWLF2 do not sign in to google account but first go to recovery again and perform 'wipe data'.
Then you may Sign in to google but dont check the checkbox that says 'keep my device backed up'
i will try to answer all your questions :)
Deletei've flashed XWLF2
before flashing the new rom, i had a pin locker
the phone asked for google sign in before setting the PIN lock
i've flashed the XWLF2 following your steps with odin.
after all that steps, i'd sign in to google account and indeed the checkbox that you mantion was checked.
after that, in settings - set screen lock - i've set the PIN
the problems are:
1. the phone doesn't recognize my pin lock- so i can't go into my phone
2. if i want to wipe data in recovery mode, the phone ask me a password
Simple, get into recovery mode. Just key in any password multiple times when it is asked for. Until the phone tells you to wipe out all the data, then I think you should know what to do. That's all!
DeleteFirst flash the phone with XXKB3 ROM
ReplyDeletewipe cache, data and format internal sd
in recovery
THEN flashing it with any 2.3.6 GB ROM in your case XWLF2
after flashing xwlf2 you donot sign in to google and let it boot.
if problem persists then let me know.
yeap, the problem persist :)
ReplyDeleteI hope this ROM helps your device out of this misery .
Deletehttp://adf.ly/3886156/bgmd1
That is the latest Stock firmware for i9003, give it a try and may luck be on your side.
If both the Stock ROMs (XWLF2 & BGMD1) are giving you issues then you should try flashing the entire XXKB3 Rom with latona.pit and phone, pda ,modem files in odin and then try PIN lock in this froyo ROM,if it gives you problem here too then you should visit service centre
ReplyDeletei will try like you said and i will return with news :)
ReplyDeletethanks for your involvement
Alok Sanyal...dada Lots of Thanks to You....I have tried to update my I9003 to jelly Bean and then got stack by boot loop...I was so much afraid and then find your post...I have solved my problem by following your given steps and at the same time pronounce god name again and again....And I am saved....Thanks A lot Dada
ReplyDeleteCheers ! Rajib da
DeleteGlad that this post has helped to mend the problem with your phone.
still having bootloop issue....did each and every step successfully.
ReplyDeleteNo problem, i would require you to explain in detail the procedures you had followed with filenames wherever required and also the status of your i9003 phone after each step.
DeleteI have followed the procedure but when I press Start in step 1, nothing happen. There are some messages in Odin's message window:
ReplyDeleteEnter CS for MD5..
Check MD5.. Do not unplug the cable..
Please wait..
I9003XXKB3-REV08-PDA-low-CL925667.tar.md5 is valid.
Checking MD5 finished Sucessfully..
Leave CS..
All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 0)
And my Galaxy phone still keeps on booting like before.
Could you please help?
Because your phone is not in download mode, dump.
DeleteSorry I have missed to turn on download mode. After retry, I have finished step 1. However in step 2, the phone did not go into recovery mode after Odin displayed pass. I have tried to press volume up+home and then power but still boot loop.
ReplyDeleteI did not find you mentioning about latona.pit file in Step 1.
DeleteSo i would request you to read the tutorial carefully and don't skip any steps or you may brick your phone.
Just Follow Exactly
Thanks for your quick response.
DeleteI did follow the tutorial during retry: putting the pit and pda files downloaded, and taking repartition, auto reboot, f reset time option. I tried 2 times but the phone just cannot booted into recovery mode. I find there are 2 other files in XXKB3, namely MODEM_I9003XXKB3_REV_00_CL928844.tar.md5 and GT-I9003-CSC-SERKB3.tar.md5. Are there any usages & should be used? By the way my phone was bought in Hong Kong.
If you have tried the mentioned steps as it is then you may want to go to Samsung service center while i may suggest you check if your pc has
Delete1. samsung kies installed
and i will put images of how download mode looks
and lastly after step 1. The phone will go automatically in to recovery mode you do not need to do it manually
but if you ever want to get your phone into recovery mode then the trick is
Press and hold
first volume up, then keeping it pressed also press and hold home button and then also press and hold power.
after that phone will show samsung screen now count slow 1 2 3
now leave power first and then the rest.
Thanks for the images. I can easily go into download mode and as I mentioned I have completed step 1 which requires it. My phone just did not go into recovery mode automatically. When I tried to enter it manually by pressing vol up+home and then power (just like the way to enter download mode except vol down), the phone just boot again and again. I am thinking maybe the recovery mode is damaged in my phone :(
DeleteThanks a lot...I am closely following your posts and replies...hats off. My GT I9003 has a different story to tell..the phone does not recognize any SIM and IMEI info is blank! Otherwise the device is absolutely fine - except the network. Can you please advise me any direction - to solve this problem.
ReplyDeleteThank you for Appreciation,
DeleteSeems you have flashed custom roms and now the imei number that is saved in efs is corrupt/lost, i have searched to find this thread from xda that could be a solution for you
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2329937
Thanks for your cooperation and the useful link.
DeleteWill take time to perform the procedures and then give you the feedback.
Till then - bye.
Mr. Anonymous you could give this a try,
ReplyDeleteStep 1: Put your phone in download mode and connect it to a pc then Start Odin and put latona.pit file in PIT tab of odin
make sure the f.reset, auto reboot and re partion is Checked.
Now press Start, after pass your phone will show a blank screen.( *If this does not occur then you are not doing something properly )
Dont be scared remove the battery to turn off the device then put it back and get your device to download mode again
Now in odin first press reset then put the XXKB3 file that is mentioned in Step 1 of my Procedure check only f.reset and auto reboot is checked.
Then connect your device to pc and press start .
If you have successfully followed this then continue with Step 2 from Procedure.
I really appreciate your help. I tried but still not able to solve the problem. My phone cannot go into recovery mode. I have copied and pasted the messages of Odin as below. The steps seemed perfectly ok. I guess the latona.pit and XXKB3 just do not hit my problems. Could you please suggest other files that may help?

This procedure is the only available solution for our users who have bricked their phone but is recoverable and with you device it seems your rom needs to be flashed properly, so you can try other ways of flashing as well which is done with the help JTag device or other flashers. Please google it or you can check with any mobile repair shops they would charge you but would be resolved.

Sorry for my english, regards and thank you!
If your phone had booted without network then it should also boot after you put your recent stock ROM.
DeleteI would suggest you to try the procedure again.
If you got bootloop, try wipe data first before do anything.
DeleteHi Alok,
ReplyDeleteGood Morning. I have found your post very much helpful. I had experimented my phone to root and upgrade to Jelly Bean 4.1. I did it successfully. I used the phone for almost 1 and half month. I was later getting the problem of phone getting heated up and battery was draining fast. So i wanted to undo what ever i did and wanted to come back to original state. I saw this post after searching so many things on net. This is the story so far.
Now as per your instructions I did step by step.
After uploading "Latona pit "and "I9003XXKB3-REV08-PDA-low-CL925667.tar.md5 " my phone rebooted and booted into recovery mode. ( appropriate check boxes marked as mentioned.) There I did "Wipe cache" then select "Format internal SD" and finally "Wipe data". as you have given emphasis on the order also. ( I did read whole post and down under you are strict on the order ).
Now after reboot phone starts and w/o network and everything looks ok.
2nd step:
( appropriate check boxes marked as mentioned.) pda file I9003DDMF1_I9003ODDLF2_I9003DDLE1_HOME.tar.md5 is loaded ( downloaded from the link provided) phone again reeboted to the OS. and all looks fine. I then swithed off the phone. then tried to get it into recovery mode it didn't went. Also it never booted to OS again.
So i thought i have made some mistake some where i repeated the whole procedure but same result. Later I changed 2nd step PDA to I9003XWLF2_I9003XXLE4_I9003ITVLF2_HOME.tar.md5 and now after reboot phone goes into loop. I removed bettery and the started phone. Samsung main screen with model no. comes and then screen goes blank but backlights are on.
Now what should I do ? where I have gone wrong ? can you guide ? thanks. I request you to help me on SOS basis as my work is held up.
Hi Alok,
ReplyDeleteForgot to mention you, I have yesterday loaded pda file mentioned by Kurniawan Putra17 in post above,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2329200.
There is no difference. I am desperate. :-(
Okay first of all be patient, i know your feeling been through with that but impatience will lead to much bigger problems
DeleteSo, what i would suggest as your phone can boot with XXKB3 Rom
then load all the XXKB3 files like mentioned above in the procedure BUT this time also put
Modem file into -> PHONE tab of Odin
Gt-i9003-CSC file into -> CSC tab of Odin
after that goto recovery do those wipes & formats.
Finally you should be able to use xxkb3 rom with network on your phone all you now need is samsung kies which will detect your phone and will update it to the latest firmware .
You are Simply Awesome Mate ..... You Saved both My Cell Phone n My Money ..... Cheers to You .... Thanx a Million ...... :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks Alok for reply. I will try. But now I am facing one strange problem. My phone is not detected by my pc and battery is also not charging. Is any thing wrong with phone ? I will try charging with charger and see if phone is getting charged or not.
ReplyDeletePlease do not try charging your phone for atleast a day, the capacitor near the port does misheave in i9003 for reasons i don't know why but has happened to me. I gave my phone a break of one day after that i took the battery out kept it for one hour and then charged it with my original samsung charger and after that it now charges the battery fine.

ReplyDeleteHi Alok,
ReplyDeleteThanks for providing useful information. I have a problem restocking my samsung galaxy i9003 to original stock ROM. I had updated to custom ROM for Jelly Bean and now, I wanted to undo all the changes. When I tried to stock it with original samsung stock ROM, the process completed successfully but now it doesn't start. Only the Logo with model number shows up and then the galaxy screen shows up and it continues in this loop.
One this I want to mention here is that I haven't followed the steps you have provided in this post. Now, I want to try these steps but I am unable to download the files. Can you provide me information on how I can download the relevant files you have mentioned in your post?
Thanks a lot.
Try now as i have changed the source of download from box to filefactory tell me if this works for you now.

Download issues post has now been updated with new links replacing box.com to filefactory
ReplyDeleteThanks, buddy. Your solution worked like a charm. One question though..why it is required to flash the phone with Froyo first? Does this mean that it will do a clean install?
ReplyDeleteAnyway, thanks a lot. You saved me lot of money.
Thanks a lot dude. It really helped me. I am now able to boot my stock rom :)
ReplyDeleteJust followed your steps.
A million thanks to u.

ReplyDeleteFor those who have had problems earlier i have added Procedure 2, the link there will download all the files needed for this procedure. I recommned you uninstall all your phone softwares from PC like Kies also after you connect your phone uninstall its drivers from device manager, then install the drivers that is in the download and follow the Steps.
ReplyDeleteOSM> Enter CS for MD5..
ReplyDeleteCheck MD5.. Do not unplug the cable..
Please wait..
9003XXKB3-REV08-PDA-low-CL925667.tar.md5 is invalid.
End...
Thanks a lot dude...your method (1) really worked for me. I bricked my phone and couldn't revive with so many methods..but yours was really foolproof...thanks a bunch again man...now my i9003 is rocking stock ROM, fresh and clean...you rock!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, if you have any other query feel free to ask. I would be happy to find an answer.
